Ralph R. Ibis age 92, of Champlin, MN formerly of Mitchell, died Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Brookdale Senior Living in Champlin, MN. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church in Mitchell. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Monday, August 20, 2018 at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7PM. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery with military honors.

Ralph Raymond Ibis was born July 6, 1926 in Bridgewater, SD.  Son of Albert and Anna (Schutz) Ibis.

He grew up in Bridgewater, joined the Army at age 18 and served in combat zones in the Philippines and Japan during WWII. After his honorable discharge, he returned to South Dakota.  He married Betty Kurtenbach on April 11, 1948.  He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church for 70 years.

He worked in several sales and delivery positions and retired from Culhane's Dairy.

Grateful for sharing his life are his children, son, Mike (Deb) Ibis of Maple Grove MN and daughter, Deb Heck, of Bremerton WA; five granddaughters, Dr. Jen (Erik) Stafford, Kelsey Ibis and fiancée Kaleb Lindsey, Jamie (Jason) Nendza, Cassandra (William) Welch and Taylor Heck; three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by wife; parents and sisters, Violet Raabe and Jeanette Lorang.
