Phylis Roster, age 90, of Mitchell died Thursday June 12, 2008 at the Firesteel Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday June 16, 2008 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mitchell with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Sunday June 15 at Will Funeral Chapel with prayer service beginning at 6:30 PM. Phylis (Morgan) Roster was born March 5, 1918 at Mitchell, to Hugh and Eleanor (Bowar) Morgan. She was raised on a farm south of Letcher. After her high school graduation from Letcher High School, she attended Mitchell Business College. She then worked at Wards Store in the fashion department for four years. Phylis married Berno Roster on August 16, 1939. Berno and Phylis farmed the family farm until retiring in 1979. Phylis has been a resident of Firesteel Healthcare Center for the past seven years. She is survived by one daughter Patricia (Milton) Siebelts, Huron; one son Richard (Diane) Roster, Huntley, IL; one sister Dorothy Graves, Artesian; two grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two nephews and a host of cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Berno on October 22, 2001, her parents and a brother in law.
