Paul "Zeke" Wolf, 73, of Alexandria, died April 13, 2013 at Avera Queen of Peace. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at First Lutheran Church in Mitchell. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Will Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Mount Vernon Cemetery.
Paul Robert "Zeke" Wolf, son of George and Evelyn (Mahoney) Wolf was born April 12, 1940 in Hanson County on the family farm. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Alexandria, SD. Paul received his education at Fair View County School and graduated from Alexandria High School in 1958. After his schooling, Paul worked on the family farm before enlisting in the US Army on March 10, 1959 and served in Germany. He was honorably discharged on February 26, 1961 and returned to Hanson County and continued to farm.
He was united in marriage with Janice Sorvaag-Miller on March 24, 1973 in Vermillion, SD. The couple continued to farm for 25 years. Paul then worked for many years at Cenex in Alexandria, he later drove a fuel truck for Alexandria Grain and Oil and then was employed at Westtown Shell in Alexandria. He retired in 2002 at the age of 62.
Paul is a member of First Lutheran Church in Mitchell, SD. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge for 43 years. Paul enjoyed Yankee Baseball and guns. Paul received the "Friend of the Farmer" Award on March 20, 1996 by the Davison-Hanson County Farm Bureau.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Janice Wolf, Alexandria, SD; two children, Rodnie (Ann) Miller, Mitchell, SD, Randi (Heather) Miller, Sioux Falls, SD; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Ila Jean (Stan) Larson, Sun City West, AZ, Arlene (Jim) Mitchell, Clear Lake, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Darlene Hornak.
