Paul C. Gossman, age 81, of Mitchell, SD died Friday, August 8, 2014 at Avera Queen Hospital ER. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church with burial at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, August 11, 2014 at the Will Funeral Chapel with rosary service beginning at 7:00 PM. Paul C. Gossman, son of John and Lorena (Weiland) Gossman, was born November 9, 1932 in Bridgewater, SD. He grew up in Bridgewater and graduated from McCook County School and then attended Southern State Teachers College. Paul served in the US Army from January of 1953 to January of 1961. Paul was united in marriage with Deloris "Tooty" McEntee on October 4, 1958 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell, SD. The couple made their home in Mitchell and raised their five children. Paul was employed for the Farmer Coop Elevator for almost 40 years. Grateful for having shared his life are his five children, Julie Straw, Wheaton, MN, John Gossman and his fiancée, Melody, Sioux Falls, SD, Jane (Rob) Hetland, Artesian, SD, Jacki (Brad) Florey, Sioux Falls, SD, JoEllen Schoenfelder, Sioux Falls, SD; 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; five sisters, Joyce Stephens, Sioux Falls, SD, Rose (Bill) Rogers, Sioux Falls, SD, Betty Halverson, Sioux Falls, SD, Barb Bies, Sioux Falls, SD, Pat (Oleo) Williams, Amarillo, TX; a brother, Fritz (Midge) Gossman, Rapid City, SD; and his mother-in-law, Mabel McEntee, Mitchell, SD. He was preceded in death by his wife Deloris "Tooty" Gossman on April 22, 2005; his parents; a son-in-law, Spencer Straw; and his father-in-law, Lawrence McEntee. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial may be directed to Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell.
