Patty Bauer, age 60, of Mitchell, SD died Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Firesteel Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Friday, April 29, 2016 at Will Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Friday at Will Funeral Chapel.

Patty Bauer, daughter of Charles and Joyce (Free) Carlson, was born at Perrin AFB in Dennison, TX. She moved with her family back to South Dakota. Patty graduated from Huron High School in 1973 and then attended Stewart School in Aberdeen, SD.

She was united in marriage with Michael Bauer on August 17, 1974 in Huron, SD. The couple made their home in Aberdeen for a short time, later moving to Huron, SD. Patty traveled and worked in many states, returning to Huron in 1994. She later joined her daughters and grandchildren in Mitchell in 2010.

In her younger years, Patty enjoyed fishing and being by the lake. In her later years she enjoyed bingo, crafts, making dolls, adult coloring and spending time with her grandchildren. Patty will always be remembered as spunky personality; once you met her you would never forget her.

Survivors include her two daughters, Stephanie (Brice) Kattner, Mitchell, SD and Christy (Zach) Schroder, Mitchell, SD; three grandchildren, Gracie Kattner, Maggie Kattner and Peyton Schroder, all of Mitchell, SD; her father, Charles Carlson, Oklahoma City, OK; five siblings, Garnett (Janis) Duncan, Logan, NM; Billy Carlson, Oklahoma City, OK, Glo Cunningham, Sioux Falls, SD, Michael (Marie) Carlson, Phoenix, AZ, and Donny Carlson, Oklahoma City, OK.

She was preceded in death by her mother; and a sister, Charlene Carlson.
