Naomi Nelson 87, of Mitchell, died Saturday June 30, 2007 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday July 3, 2007 at the Will Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Naomi was born June 10, 1920 in Bijou Hills, SD to Arthur and Anna Mae(Trank) Nelson. She moved with her family to Mitchell in 1926 and then to Pierre in 1931 and graduated from Pierre High School in 1939. Naomi and her family returned to Mitchell in 1939 where she attended the Lange School of Beauty Culture, graduating in 1941. She worked as a beauty operator for 40 years. She was a long time member of First United Methodist Church. She is survived by her sister Anita Lucibella of Mitchell, nieces Jeani West, Cheryl Lucibella and Lisa Pibal all of Colorado, Vickie Matteson of Iowa, nephews Dennis Lucibella of California and Larry Nelson of Missouri, numerous great nieces and nephews, and several great- great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers Gerard in infancy, Ivan and wife Cathy, Arvid and wife Mary, Myron (Mike) and wife Betty and brother in law Ralph Lucibella. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor, kind and caring ways, and amazing memory!
