Myron Vander Heiden, age 78, of Mitchell, SD died Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday, February 24, 2025, at Will Funeral Chapel.  Visitation will be 10-11:00 am before the funeral service.

Myron was born on February 2, 1947, to Tice and Rose (Wilson) Vander Heiden.

Myron attended the Mitchell Public School and graduated from Mitchell Senior High School in 1966.  After graduation, he started his career in carpentry.  He worked for J-B Construction and United Building Centers before he and his brother, Dwayne, started Vander Heiden Construction in 1973.  In 1997, Myron started working at Toshiba in Mitchell until his retirement.

In November of 1974, Myron was united in marriage to Susan Heck in Mitchell.

Myron enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses, and working on his pride and joy 1929 Ford Sedan Streetrod.

Grateful for sharing his life are his three daughters: Lynn Mulhair, Kim (Jim) Sebert, and Kaye Lynn Vander Heiden, sister, Phyllis (Wayne) Krell, brothers; Ron (Margaret) Vander Heiden, Bruce (Paula) Vander Heiden, sister-in-law, Diane Vander Heiden, grandchildren; Joseph Sebert and Andrew Jarman along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Tice and Rose Vander Heiden, sister, Joan Schapler, and brother, Dwayne Vander Heiden.
