Morris Huber age 84, of Mitchell died Sunday, December 7, 2014 at his home under Hospice Care. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday December 12, 2014 at the Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the Will Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Alexandria, SD. Morris Henry Huber was born in rural Fulton, SD to Henry and Edna (Marke) Huber on September 6, 1930. He attended and graduated from Fulton High School. He married Shirley Hansen on September 23, 1951, three children were born to this union, Dave, Carol and Cathy. He farmed most of his life in the Fulton/Alexandria area. He retired from farming and worked for Jim Geppert of Alexandria for many years. He married Carolynn Laufman on November 18, 1988. They moved to Mitchell in May of 1989 where he also worked at Mueller Lumber Co., Trail King, Thermoset, and sold Christmas trees for many years at Randall's. He became known as the "Dresser Man" with his hobby of buying old dressers, repairing and selling them mainly for kids' rooms. Morris was one of the original Viking's fans when the Viking's played their first NFL game with the Dallas Cowboys On Aug 5, 1961 at Howard Woods Field. Morris was a member of the Elks, Moose and Horseless Carriage Club. His warmth and sense of humor will be missed deeply by his wife, Carolynn; son Dave (Janette) Huber of Mitchell, two daughters Carol (Bill) Herrboldt of Sterling, CO and Cathy (Dave) Broesamle of Ramsey, MN; four step children Debra (Alex) Nelson of Minneapolis, MN, Steve (Janel) Laufman of Mitchell, Scott (Ana) Laufman of Seattle, WA and Dianne (Terry) Dubbelde of Mitchell; 24 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Preceded him in death are his parents; sister Arlene; brother Clarence; sister-in-law Margaret and granddaughter Brooke.
