Mildred I. Peterson, age 98, of Mitchell, died Saturday, October 29, 2005 at the Firesteel Health Care Center. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 2 at the Will Funeral Chapel with burial taking place at 3:00PM Wednesday at the Ocheyedan Township Cemetery in Ocheyedan, IA. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the funeral service at the Will Funeral Chapel. Mildred was born August 8, 1907 to Enoch and Mary Ann (Conway) Haffield in Ocheyedan IA. She attended school in Harris, IA and graduated from high school in 1926. She attended college in Cedar Falls, IA and Spearfish, SD. She taught school in rural and elementary grade schools in South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wyoming. She was united in marriage to Rollo Peterson of Rawlins, WY. The couple continued to live in Wyoming until retirement in 1965 in Spearfish, SD. In 1972, they moved to Mitchell where her husband died in 1991. She is survived by Jean Gilbert, of Sioux City, IA and Edith Wood, Round Lake, MN. And numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, five brothers, and one nephew.
