Michael Dean Miller, age 62, of Sioux Falls, SD (formerly of Plankinton, SD) ran into the arms of Jesus surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Sanford Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the Wesleyan Church in Mitchell, SD with burial at Mizpah Cemetery in Plankinton, SD. Michael Dean Miller, son of Rex and Lois (Berg) Miller, was born October 24, 1952 in Mitchell, SD. He attended Hopper Country School in rural Plankinton and later graduated from Plankinton High School. He attended Dakota State University in Madison for a short time and later graduated from Ross Aviation Flying School in Tulsa, OK. In 1979 Michael was employed as a pilot in Hollis, OK for one year. He was united in marriage with Kathye Garrett in Clovis, NM on June 6, 1980. The couple moved to Plankinton, SD and farmed and operated a flying business called Michael's Flying Service. They also owned and operated K&M Hunting for 30 years. The couple retired in 2013 and moved to Sioux Falls, SD. Michael continued to fly, changing his airplane wings for angel wings. Michael will always be remembered as a man who unconditionally and fiercely loved his family and lived out his faith. Michael was a member of the Mitchell Wesleyan Church, the Sioux Falls Ransom Church, AOPA (Aircraft Owners Plane Association), the NRA and the Crop Duster's Association. He enjoyed restoring and riding motorcycles, airplanes, guns, fireworks, helping others and missionary work. His true love was his grandchildren. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Kathye Miller, Sioux Falls, SD; three children, Levi Garrett (Katrina) Miller, Sioux Falls, SD, Meghan Elise (Jered) Case, Plano, TX, Luke Michael Miller, Denver, CO; five grandchildren, Garrett Michael Miller, Ava Bennett Case, Zander Michael Case, Ethan Dean Case, Stella Mae Miller; a brother, Dennis Miller, Iowa; a sister, Susie (David) Schmidt, Olathe, KS; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Richard Lee Miller.
