Maydean J. Fischer age 85, of Mitchell, died Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Firesteel Health Care Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday, August 8, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM in Grace Hill Cemetery in Tripp, SD. Maydean Jean Fischer was born on February 13th, 1929 in Tripp, SD to Samuel and Ruby (Hoff) Schmidt. She attended school in Tripp and graduated from Tripp High School in 1947. She married L.E. "Shorty" Fischer on November 30th, 1947. Maydean was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and helped in every aspect of the Church. She enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, crafting and helping others. She was a helper and friend to all. Grateful for sharing her life are her husband of 67 years; her children Chris Fischer and wife Sandy of Sioux Falls, SD and Kathy Milano and husband John of Stow, OH; grandchildren Paul (Jess) Fischer, Collin Fischer, Adam (Amanda) Fischer, Frank (Christie) Casillo and Robert Casillo; eight great grandchildren; brother Marty (Vana) Schmidt of Baxter, MN and sister Mary Guthmiller of Lodi, CA. She is preceded in death by her parents.
