Maxine Richards, 84, of Sioux Falls, SD formerly of Mitchell, SD died Tuesday June 3, 2008 at Good Samaritan Village. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday June 7, 2008 at Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Servicemens Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service. Maxine Lavonne (Konze) Richards was born February 19, 1924 in Mitchell, SD to Gus & Caroline Konze. She was employed at the Mitchell Daily Republic, retiring after 25 years of service as a proof reader. She also worked at Mitchell Printing for several years before fully retiring. Her family was her pride and joy. Her passions were sewing and cooking, which many family and friends all received many of her holiday ornaments every year and all benefited from her excellent cooking abilities and she was a wonderful generous individual. She was a long time member of the First Lutheran Church in Mitchell. Grateful for having shared her life are her two children, Don (Carolyn) Larson, Sioux Falls, SD, Bill (Cindy), Lennox, SD; a special nephew, Dan (Diana) Navin, Sioux Falls, SD; six grandchildren, Donnie Larson, Sioux Falls, SD, Todd (Liz) Larson, Chester, SD, Terry (Sheila) Larson, Calhoun, GA, Chad Desy, Lennox, SD, Michelle (Troy) Kretzschmar, Crooks, SD, Jeff (Kelly) Navin, Washington, DC; five great grandchildren Paige Larson, Jacksonville, FL, Sara Kenyon and Jade Larson, both of Chester, SD, Levi Kretzschmar, Crooks, SD, Tucker Navin, Washington, DC; special friends include Lois McDaniel, Doris Lindsey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Richards, parents; a brother, 2 sisters.
