Mary Ann Wittstruck, age 72, of Ethan, SD died Thursday October 2, 2008 at her residence. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Ethan, SD with burial at Holy Trinity Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM Sunday.
Mary Ann Kollmann, daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth (Frederich) Kollmann, was born March 14, 1936 in Parkston, SD. She grew up and attended school in Parkston. Mary Ann graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic High School. After her schooling she was employed at the Corner Caf. She later began her employment at the Northwestern Phone Company in Mitchell, SD as a switch board operator.
Mary Ann was united in marriage with William N. Wittstruck on September 14, 1957 in Parkston, SD. The couple made their home on a farm near Ethan, SD which they farmed for years. Mary Ann enjoyed sewing and crafts. She loved to cook and bake.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church where she was involved in the altar society and played the church organ for several years.
Grateful for having shared her life are her three children, Bill (Pam) Wittstruck, Mitchell, SD, Randy Wittstruck, Mitchell, SD, Kathy (Dereck) Schrader, Sioux Falls, SD; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, William (Bonnie) Kollmann, Arizona, Carl (Lou) Kollmann, Chicago, IL; two sisters, Marge Rokusek, Parkston, SD, Katherine (Milford) Reinartz, Fresno, CA; a sister-in-law, June Kollmann, Parkston, SD.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William on October 2, 2007; her parents; one brother, Herman; and a sister, Leona Kollmann.
