Mary Catherine Marks age 90, of Forest City, IA formerly of Mitchell, SD died Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Forest City, IA. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday, April 24, 2015 at the Will Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior the services on Friday. Burial will be in Servicemen's Memorial Cemetery in Mitchell, SD. Mary Catherine Marks, daughter of Alphonse and Susie (Nolan) Mayhew was born June 21, 1924 in Bridgewater, SD. She attended catholic school in Bridgewater and Alexandria, SD. Mary was employed at Folsom Grocery S tore in Alexandria and Gambles Department Store in Mitchell, SD. Mary was united in marriage with Orville Marks on November 3, 1947 at Mitchell, SD. The couple made their home in Mitchell and had one daughter Catherine Mary Marks. Cathy died January 8, 2005. Mary enjoyed playing solitaire, walking, gardening and watching Wheel of Fortune. Some notable characteristics she had were having a feisty fun personality. Mary was dedicated to her catholic faith and attended church every Sunday. She was liked by the people she was associated with. Grateful for having shared her life are her son-in-law Darryl Delzer and his wife Debra of Forest City, IA; grandchildren Monica and her husband Darwin Solberg of Forest City, IA, Melissa and her husband Shawn Plymesser of Forest City, IA, Michele and her husband Curt Badker of Clear Lake, IA, Mark and his wife Amanda Delzer of Lake Mills, IA; nephew Harold Skip Mayhew and wife Carol of Austin, MN; sister-in-law Rosemary Mayhew and niece Susan Kirkus and husband Doug of Mitchell, SD; great-grandchildren Michaela Delzer, Mitchell Solberg, Dylan Solberg, Drake Badker, Riley Plymesser, Gavin Plymesser, Carson Badker, Christian Delzer, Morgan Brainerd and Alexis Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Cathy Delzer; husband, Orville and three brothers.
