Marvin Walz, 72, of Mitchell passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM with a 2:00 PM prayer service on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Will Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Parkston, SD.

Marvin Walz was born December 7, 1952 in Parkston, SD to Sylvester and Clara (Hamberger) Walz. He attended school in Parkston while helping his family on the farm. He moved to Mitchell in 1979. He assisted his family with an electrical supply company from 1974 until 1998. Marvin then took care of his parents until their passing.

He like to repair Oliver tractors and fix other machinery. Marvin enjoyed watching westerns and visiting with people; he was friendly and like to converse with others. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Holy Family Catholic Church.

Marvin is survived by his sister, Marlene (Paul) Mutziger, nieces and nephews, Dawn (Chris) Letellier, Daniel Mutziger, Dana Mutziger, Duane (Jaymie) Mutziger, Dustin Mutziger, and his aunt Quila Walz.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Dale Mutziger.
