Marvin Stange, age 75 of Plankinton, died Friday, October 22, 2010 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at St. Johns Catholic Church in Plankinton with burial at St. Johns Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Monday at St. Johns with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM Arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel.
Marvin Milo Stange son of Milo and Elizabeth Stange was born April 9, 1935 in Huron, SD.
He was the oldest of three and grew up on the family farm in Plankinton, SD. Marvin attended country school and graduated from Plankinton High School in 1953.
Marvin served 8 years in the National Gaurds and helped on the family farm for many years. Marvin is well known as the Bartender at the Pondarosa Bar in Plankinton, he served many drinks and brought many laughs over the years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.
Marvin always enjoyed spending time with his family or playing cards with his friends.
Greatful for having shared his life are his Brother Jerry Stange of Plankinton and his Sister Bonnie Kinyon and Brother-in-Law Rodney Kinyon of Sioux Falls, SD. His beloved Nieces and Nephews Jason Kinyon and his wife Allison (Sofia and Milo), Michele Holden and her husband Art ( Megan and Joshua), Curt Stange and his wife Nicole(Kaitlin and Marrissa), Jackie Denoff and her husband Martin (Marcy, Austin, Shelby, Haley, Brooklyn and Madisyn).
He was proceded in death by his parents Milo and Elizabeth Stange.
Marvin's warm smile, touch and love he gave to all will be missed greatly.
