Marvin D. Geidel age 74 of Mitchell (formerly of Dimock) died Friday, January 28, 2011 at his home. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church rural Dimock. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 PM at Zion Lutheran Church in Mitchell with a prayer service at 7:00 PM Will Funeral Chapel are in charge of the arrangements.

Marvin Dwayne Geidel, son of Arnold and Martha (Sperlich) Geidel, was born on January 13, 1937 in Douglas County and attended country school. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Dimock, SD. Marvin attended country school in Douglas County.

Marvin was united in marriage with Mary Volz on October 9, 1971 at Holy Family. He worked as a dairy farmer for over 50 years. Marvin retired in 1995 and in 2000 moved to Mitchell, SD.

He enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing cards and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Mary Geidel, Mitchell, SD; five children, Tracie (David) Barreca, Mundelien, IL, Scott Geidel, Mitchell, SD, Kelli (Randy) Meister, Aberdeen, SD, Mark Geidel, Salem, SD, Ryan Geidel, Mitchell, SD; seven grandchildren Riley Meister, Reece Meister, Ryker Meister, Matthew Barreca, Eleanor Barreca, Catherine Barreca and Thomas Barreca; two brothers, Norbert (Marlene) Geidel, Freeman, SD, Dennis (Gloria) Geidel, Mitchell, SD; and a step brother, Duane Weisser, Mitchell, SD

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Martha (Sperlich) Geidel; his step mother, Emma (Weisser) Geidel; two sisters, Jan Neugebauer, Marion Flemmer; and a step brother, Myron Weisser.
