Martha Stratman, age 70, of Mitchell, died January 7, 2005 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will from 6-8 PM Monday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Artesian. She was born October 5, 1934, near Pukwana, SD, to Micheal and Louise (Kersch) Schmit. She married Clarence Stratman on August 12, 1957, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Artesian. She is survived by her husband, of Mitchell; brothers, George (LaVonne) Schmit, Mitchell, Raymond (Eva) Schmit, Artesian; sisters, Angeline (Damen) Eining and Agatha (Don) Ebersdorfer, Artesian. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and her in-laws, Frieda Stratman, Sister Armella Stratman and Edmund Stratman. She was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant brother, Micheal George in 1946.
