March 22, 1965 – December 23, 2021
Mark Hohn of Ethan passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls as a result of a farming accident. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Dimock. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 PM with a 6:00 PM time of remembrance on Monday, December 27, 2021 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Mark was born March 22, 1965 to Wilibrd and Darlene (Uptagrafft) Hohn. He attended school in Ethan and graduated from Ethan High School. After high school he attended Mitchell Tech; studying agriculture. Mark worked on the family farm. To say he was passionate about farming would be a huge understatement. He loved giving rides on his tractors to his grandchildren; they even blessed him with the name "grandpa moo cow". He enjoyed cutting and baling hay as well as taking care of his cattle. He loved listening to 80's music, telling dirty jokes and spending time with his friends. He also loved participating in his children and grandchildren's lives. He attended sports and other extracurricular activities. He was extremely proud of his children.
Grateful for having shared his life are his children; Samantha (Nick) Carmody, Rhena (Brody Weiss) Hohn, Shawntel Hohn, Clay Hohn, grandchildren; Tucker Carmody, Tracen Carmody, girlfriend; Kerri Brooks, parents; Wilibrd and Darlene Hohn, brothers; Dave (Karen) Hohn, Rich (Paula) Hohn, Todd (Amy) Hohn, sisters; Cheryl (Bruce) Anderson, Barb Pierkowski, Judy (Bob) Freeman, Bev (Scott) Johnson, Lisa (Jeff) Larson, Jan (Nick) Bahmuller and mother of his children, Denise Hohn.
Mark was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Hohn, infant son, and his beloved dog Suzi.
