Marjorie Seward, age 91, of Mitchell, died June 14, 2004 at the Beverly Healthcare Center in Salem. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 15 at the Graceland Cemetery with Pastor Sean McPherson officiating. Services are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel. She was born on March 23, 1913, at Loomis, SD to Frank and Bessie (Prater) Taylor. She attended school in Loomis and later graduated from Mitchell High School. She married Lee Seward on August 17, 1940, at Mitchell. She lived in an apartment at Meadowlawn Plaza for twenty-four years. She was a member of the Nazarene Church. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed animals. Survivors include one sister, Jean Knutson and husband, LeRoy, Rapid City, SD; several nieces and nephews: Margaret Fenner, and Shirley (Ken) Phinney, Donna (Lennis) Shafranek, all of Rapid City; Dianne (Doug) Swanson, Greensboro, NC; Karen Draper, San Jose, CA; Carol (Dale) Engebretson, Huron; Linda (Jerry) Cranny, and Gary (Verla) Balding, all of Mitchell; and Merlin Taylor, of California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Feb. 20, 1980; her parents, four sisters and one brother.
