Marion Lucille Trode, age 89, of Mitchell, died Monday, December 31, 2007 at her home in Mitchell. Memorial Services will be 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 5 at the UCC Congregational Church in Mitchell following at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, January 4 from 6 to 8 PM at the Will Funeral Chapel with a Prayer Service at 7 PM. Marion Lucille Trode was born on September 25, 1918 at Loomis, SD to Charles and Bernice (Comstock) Clark. She moved to Mitchell in 1929. She attended grade school in Loomis and Mitchell, and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1937. She married Varley Trode in October 1937. They had three children, Tom, David, and Ted. They then moved to Bremerton, WA from 1942 to 1946. They then returned to Mitchell where she worked for Jarold Shop, the Piggly Wiggly store and for Varley at Trode Sheetmetal Shop, until she started working for Dr.s Boyden and Kappenman. She worked with Dr. Kappenman for 24 years as a Dental Assistant. During this time she took schooling at the University of Minnesota and became a Certified Dental Assistant. She retired in 1981. She belonged to the SDDAA, was a member of the Congregational UCC Church and belonged to the Womens Fellowship. She served on the Deaconate Board for many years. She is survived by two sons; Thomas Paul (Margaret) Trode of Custer, SD, and David Dee (Sherrill) Trode of Sheridan, WY, a daughter-in-law, Pat of Mitchell, a brother Rex Clark of Mitchell, a sister Betty Koon, of Red Lodge, MT,, eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 11 step great- grandchildren, a God-daughter Barbara Nash, of Mitchell, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Varley, her parents, her son Ted, a brother Bill Clark and wife Gladys, a brother-in-law Lloyd Koon, two sisters-in-law Lorraine Clark and Mary Trode and a daughter-in-law Jule Trode
