Marie Suhr, age 76 of Mitchell, died Sunday, January 02, 2011 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 5, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Dimock with burial at Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at the church with a prayer service beginning at 7:30 PM.

She was born on June 2, 1934 at Ethan to John and Kathryn (Tischler) Miiller. She attended country school near Ethan. She married Leonard Suhr on June 2, 1954 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ethan. They farmed northeast of Mitchell until 1965, when they moved to the family farm near Dimock. She worked at Good Samaritan Nursing Center and Avera Bormann Manor, Parkston. She also worked at Wilson Estates Assisted Living, Mitchell. She moved to Mitchell in 2007, to Prairie Crossings Assisted Living Center in January 2009 and to Firesteel Healthcare Center in October 2010.

She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Dimock and the Altar Society.

She is survived by five children: Diane Hohn and husband, Bob, Mitchell; Jim and wife Diane of Phoenix, AZ; Judy Luckett and husband Gary, Mitchell; Mary Vockrodt and husband Doug, Brookings; and Tom and wife Tina, Dimock; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Marlys Miiller, Mitchell, and Pauline Muntefering, Dimock.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002, an infant daughter, Nicole; her parents; her in-laws; three brothers, Willard, Norbert, and Clarence; a sister Florence and an infant sister.
