Marie Parce, age 96, of Mitchell, SD formerly of Letcher, SD died Monday December 10, 2012 at Firesteel Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the Letcher Community Church with burial at Sunset Cemetery in Mitchell, SD. Visitation will begin 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the Letcher Community Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel. Marie Parce, daughter of Frank and Margaret (Parquet) Parce, was born on June 16, 1916 on the family farm in rural Letcher, SD. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in Letcher. Marie graduated salutatorian from Letcher High School. After her schooling, Marie helped on the family farm. She became a resident at Firesteel Healthcare Center in March of 2012. She was a member of the Letcher UCC Church where she taught Sunday school and sang at the church. In her earlier years she played the soprano saxophone. Grateful for having shared her life are her brother, Homer Parce, Letcher, SD; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, David and Irven; a sister-in-law, Gladys; and her niece's husband, John Stange.
