Marie Kurtenbach age 98, of Dimock, SD died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be 9:30 AM Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Dimock, SD. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Friday, March 27, 2015 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Anna Marie Kurtenbach was born May 22, 1916 in rural Dimock, SD to Joseph and Agnes (Bowar) Puetz. She attended parochial grade school in Dimock and was a lifetime resident of the Dimock area. Marie was united in marriage with Wilfred Kurtenbach on November 21, 1940 in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Dimock, SD. They farmed in the Dimock area until retiring when they moved into Dimock. Marie worked at Dimock Parochial School as a cook for 15 years. She was a member of the Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of America. Her enjoyments in life were her quilting and sewing and best of all her grandchildren. Grateful for sharing her life are her four sons, Dale Kurtenbach and his wife Mary of Prairie Village, KS, Vilas Kurtenbach and his wife Margo of Dimock, SD, Darwin Kurtenbach and his wife Rosemary of Dimock, SD and Daniel Kurtenbach and his wife Linda of Dimock, SD; 19 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Mary Ann Puetz of Mitchell, SD. Marie is preceded in death by her parents; husband Wilfred; brothers, Wilfred, Urban and Walter; sister, Salome Marks.
