Margie A. Winter, age 86, of Mitchell, SD died Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Monday, June 29, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church with burial at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday at Holy Family Catholic Church with a wake service beginning at 7:00 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel. Margie Mayer, daughter of Adolf and Rose (Reichling) Mayer, was born December 17, 1928 in Emery, SD. She graduated from Emery High School in 1946. She was united in marriage with Melvin "Amy" Winter in Emery, SD on March 29, 1948. The couple moved to Mitchell in 1976. Her husband died on March 19, 2002. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Grateful for having shared her life are her nine children, Judy Middlebrook, Sioux Falls, SD, Jeanne (Al) Decker, Spearfish, SD, Michael (Kathryn) Winter, Garretson, SD, Peggy (Chuck) Finkenbiner, Mitchell, SD, Kelly (Nancy) Winter, Clara City, MN, Todd Winter, Mitchell, SD, Tammy Winter, Grapevine, TX, Rick (Holly) Winter, Grapevine, TX, Robin (Mike) Van Noy, Grapevine, TX; 21 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two sisters, Charlotte Heyer and Rosemary Skarsett, both of Sioux Falls, SD; two brothers, Hit "E.D." Mayer, Mitchell, SD and Dick (Beverly) Mayer, Nicolette, MN. She is preceded in death by her husband Melvin; her parents; four sisters, Noreen Mayer, Suneva Simpson, Calista Lancer, Delphine Miner; and a great grandson, Jack Ellis.
