Margaret Murray, 94, of Alexandria, SD died Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Diamond Care Nursing Center in Bridgewater. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Monday, May 13, 2013 at St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Church in Alexandria, with Fr. Jerome Ranek as celebrant. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Sunday, May 12, 2013 at St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Church, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be at St. Mary of Mercy Cemetery in Alexandria. Will Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Margaret Murray, daughter of Paul and Anna (Hemmersbach) Schoenfelder was born January 3, 1919 in Dimock, SD. She attended school at St. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Dimock. Margaret was united in marriage with Don Murray on October 18, 1938 in Dimock. They farmed in the Alexandria area for most of their lives. She worked at the Colony of Mercy Retirement Home in Hutchinson county, Folsom's Variety Store and Folsom's Grocery Store. At the time of her husband's death December 12, 1991, Margaret moved into Alexandria. Then in January of 2010 she moved into Crystal Manor Assisted Living in Mitchell. In March 2013 she moved to the Diamond Care Nursing Center in Bridgewater where she lived until the time of her death. Margaret very much enjoyed her gardening, attending the activities of her children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed the hours she spent going on road trips with her daughters, playing cards and bingo with her friends and family. She was a member of St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Church and was active in the Altar Society. Grateful for having shared her life are her four daughters; Anna Mae Hofer of Dimock, SD, Norma Jean (Dick) Brown of Sioux Falls, SD, Joan (Gus) McBrayer of Ethan, SD, Judy (Rich) Waldera of Alexandria, SD; 17 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded into death by her husband Don, grandson Brad Hofer, son-in-law JaVern Hofer and three sisters, Elizabeth Schoenfelder, Helen Olmstad and Irma Murray.
