Margaret "Gerri" Johnson, age 90 of Sioux Falls, SD (formerly of Mitchell, SD) died Monday, October 26, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society in Lennox, SD. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Friday, October 30, 2015 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with a burial at Calvary Cemetery in Mitchell, SD. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, October 29, 2015 with a prayer service followed by a rosary at 7:00 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel. Gerri Meade, daughter of Lloyd and Margaret (Nolan) Meade, was born May 7, 1925 in Aurora County, SD. She grew up in Plankinton and graduated with the class of 1944. Gerri was united in marriage with Glenn Johnson on February 20, 1946 in Plankinton, SD. They farmed for many years near Storla and raised their family there. In 1972, they moved to Mitchell. Gerri was employed for many years at JC Penney and Feinsteins. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Dennis (Peggy) Johnson, Rapid City, SD; four daughters, Deb (Steve) Ruda, Teresa (Bill) Peck, both of Fremont, NE, Glenda Loutsch, Ankeny, IA, Mary (Greg) Haiar, Sioux Falls, SD; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Houska, Cathedral City, CA; a sister-in-law, Arlene Biehn, Decatur, AL; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband,Glenn; two brothers, Howard and Robert Meade; two sisters, Alice Mathis and Mildred Scott; a son-in-law, Jack Loutsch; three sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law.
