Obituary

Margaret E. Huber age 86, of Sioux Falls (formerly of Mitchell) died Tuesday October 30, 2007 at Covington Heights Golden Living Center in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be Saturday 10:30AM at the United Methodist Church in Alexandria. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM at the Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery in Alexandria. Margaret Cobb, daughter of Andrew and Irene (Heath) Cobb, was born February 27, 1921 in Kimball, SD on the family farm. She grew up in the Kimball area and graduated from Kimball High School in 1937 at the age of sixteen. Margaret was united in marriage with Clarence Huber on August 14, 1941 in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple made their home on a farm north of Emery, SD where they farmed for 42 years. The couple retired in 1983 and moved to Alexandria, SD where they lived until 1990. In 1991 when Clarence entered Firesteel Healthcare Center Margaret moved to Mitchell. She faithfully cared for Clarence while he resided at Firesteel Healthcare Center. Margaret was a member of the United Methodist Church in Alexandria, SD and was active in UMW. She worked as a voting poll worker in the Alexandria area for several years. Margaret loved to spend time with her grandchildren and traveling, and also enjoyed gardening. Grateful for having shared her life are her son-in-law, Loren Bittner and his wife, Jayne, Sioux Falls, SD; three grandchildren, LuAnn Severson and her husband, Brad, Canton, SD, Linda Scholten and her husband, Rob, Ripon, CA, Layne Bittner, St. Paul, MN; five great grandchildren, Jordan and Zachary Severson, Canton, SD, Kaylee, Derek and Amanda Scholten, Ripon, CA; three step grandchildren, Lavonne Tinklenberg and her husband, Ivan, Holland, MN, Tammy Solsma and her husband, Craig, Sanborn, IA, Sheila VanDen Brink and her husband, Dave, Orange City, IA; nine step great grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Harrison and her husband, Charles Henry, Corsicana, TX; a brother, Jerry Cobb and his wife, Bonnie, Custer, SD. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Joyce; a son, Roy; her parents; two sister, Lois Cobb and Ruth Christen; three brothers, Ray Cobb, Andy Cobb and Leo Cobb.
