Marcella V. Muntefering, age 88, of Mitchell, formerly of Ethan, died October 23, 2004 at Firesteel Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Ethan. Visitation will be from 6-8 Pm Tuesday at Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Marcella was born on September 9, 1916, at Mitchell to Herman and Frances (Craig) Schurz. She grew up on the farm southwest of Mitchell and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1934. On January 4, 1936, she married Lawrence Pat Muntefering. They purchased a farm near Ethan, SD in March of 1941. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Ethan. She is survived by her children, Monna McBrayer and husband, Jack, of Mitchell; Judy Sprinkel, of Pierre, Ron Muntefering, Ethan, and Kim Muntefering and wife, Sue of Mitchell; sixteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on November 4, 1978; daughter, Donna Wagner, granddaughter, Patricia Wagner, brother, Oswald, and sisters, Florence, Frances and Ella.
