Lynn Gordon Stetser, age 65, of Mitchell, died December 27, 2006 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday at the Will Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service on Thursday. Gordon was born on July 22, 1941 in Woodbury, New Jersey to Lynn G and Isobel (Taylor) Stetser. He attended school in South Jersey and attended Rutgers University for two years. He entered the US Navy and served for two enlistments, where he served on an aircraft carrier and played in the U.S. Navy Bank. After his discharge, he returned to South Jersey and played in the Bonsall Blues Jazz Band for 12 years. He was employed at the Camden shipyard as an electrician. He served as a district manager for 7-11 stores in South Jersey and also sold Prudential Insurance. Gordon was united in marriage to Dorothy Juris on January 10, 1989 at Belle Fourche, SD. The couple moved west in 1981. They made their home in South Dakota since 1986. In 1993, the couple made their home in Mitchell, SD. He was employed at the Senior Center. Because of a heart attack, he became permanently disabled. He enjoyed freelance photography, bowling and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of Mitchell; his children, Robert Callahan, Richard (Kelly) Callahan, all of Mitchell, and Chris (Tanya) Callahan, of Huron; six grandchildren; and one brother, Pastor Bruce Stetser. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Daniel.
