Lucille "Boots" Grace Schutt, age 91, of Mitchell, SD, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Firesteel Healthcare Center. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Funeral services will be held at Will Funeral Chapel at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, followed by a burial at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell. Boots was born July 26, 1922 in Watertown, SD, to Jay and Lucille Miller. On July 26, 1940 she married John Schutt at First Lutheran Church. After living in Mitchell for 18 years, where they started a family, they moved to Mountlake Terrace, WA. They lived in the Pacific Northwest for 20 years before returning to the Midwest; first Rock Rapids, IA for six years and then to their Mitchell roots. Boots was a member of First Lutheran Church in Mitchell and was devoted to her faith. She enjoyed gardening, latch hook, embroidery, collecting horse figurines, and drives in the countryside. She played the harmonica and liked the music of accordionists Myron Floren and Lawrence Welk. Lucille is survived by her sons Dennis Schutt and Leonard Schutt; daughters-in-law Theresa Schutt and Debra Schutt; sister Ada Miller; grandchildren Rebecca Perdue, Jennifer Schutt, Kristina Dover, Alana Schutt, Ryan Schutt, and Troy Schutt; great-grandchildren Brittney Butler, Taylor Bates, Braxton Armstrong, Alissa Addison, Cortlin Dover, Jayethen Dover, Kaidyn Dover, Chaylee Dover, Eric Schutt, Sarah Schutt, Tyler Schutt, and Ryan Schutt; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990, and siblings Mark, Ralph, Matilda (Tillie), and Ruth.
