Obituary

Lucille A. Fraser, age 81, of Plankinton, died November 12, at the Firesteel Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be held at the Storla Lutheran Church at 10:30 AM Thursday with burial at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Wednesday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7:00 PM.. Lucille was born June 5, 1925, at rural Letcher, SD, to Albert and Mildred (Hetland) Selland. She grew up in rural Letcher and graduated from Letcher High School. Lucille attended Augustana College and Dakota Wesleyan University. She taught in the Armour Public School and Leet School in Elliot Township, Sanborn County. She was united in marriage with James Dale Fraser on June 15, 1947 at the Storla Lutheran Church. They farmed and operated a cattle feeding business with their son, John, in rural Plankinton. Dale and Lucille resided on the family farm west of Storla, where Lucille was actively involved in JD Concrete for more than 15 years. Lucille was a faithful, lifelong member of Storla Lutheran Church, Letcher, SD. She was devoted to her faith, family, and friends. Lucille moved into Firesteel Healthcare Center in October, 2004. She is survived by her husband, Dale, of Plankinton; daughter, Pamela Johnson and husband Richard, Sioux Falls; John Fraser and wife, Kathy, Mitchell; five grandchildren: Erin Johnson, Sioux Falls; Tiffany, Courtney, Justin, and Jason Fraser, all of Mitchell; two brothers: Arlan Selland and wife, Barb; Doyle Selland and wife, Sonja, all of Letcher; one sister, Shirley Anderson and husband Dale, of Alexandria, MN. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents.
