Lou Larson, age 90, of Salem, died Sunday, October 30, 2005 at the Beverly Healthcare Center in Salem. Funeral services will be held 6:30 PM Wednesday night at the Will Funeral Chapel with visitation beginning at 6:00 PM. Burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday at the Graceland Cemetery in Burke, SD. Lou was born January 7, 1915, at Gregory, SD to Michael and Anna (Hettinger) Siren. She graduated from Gregory High School and moved to Illinois where she worked for the Hartford Insurance Company in the Chicago area for approximately 35 years. She returned to SD and on October 9, 1973, she married Clarence Swede Larson at Sioux Falls. They lived in Mitchell and owned and operated Swedes Grocery until 1979. They moved to Alexandria in 1985 and purchased a home there. She was a member of the Catholic Church. She is survived by a niece, Jeanine Littau and husband, Tony, Naknek, Alaska, a nephew, Don Siren, North Platte, Nebraska, and a brother-in-law, Lt. Col. Leonard Stevens of Lafayette, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers and sisters.
