Lorraine McHugh age 88, of Fremont, NE, formerly of Mitchell, died Monday June 8, 2009 at Hooper Care Center in Hooper, NE. Funeral services will 10:00 AM Friday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Lorraine Hohn, daughter of Joseph and Theresa (Miiller) Hohn, was born January 26, 1921 at Ethan, SD.

She was united in marriage with Edward (Ted) McHugh on November 16, 1942 in Mitchell, SD. The couple made their home in Mitchell, SD. Together they owned and operated SouthSide Garage and Radiator Shop from 1974 to 1996. She moved to Fremont in 2007 to be closer to her daughter.

Lorraine was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mitchell for many years. Later in life she was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church in Fremont, NE.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter, Bonnie (Byron) LaMont, Fremont, NE; two grandchildren, Chad LaMont, Fremont, NE, Lauri Patterson, Fremont, NE; three great grandchildren, Kali, Mia, and Mason Patterson, all of Fremont, NE; a sister, Adeline Sprecher, Mitchell, SD; three sisters-in-law, June Hohn, Mitchell, SD, Irene Hohn, Letcher, SD and Betty McHugh, Minneapolis, MN; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted McHugh in 2000; her parents; three brothers, Norman, Delmar and Dick; a brother-in-law, Ewald Sprecher; and a nephew Doug Sprecher.
