Lorraine T. Logan, age 90, of Mitchell, died June 5, 2006 at the Avera Brady Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday June 14, at the Will Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Will Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Lorraine was born December 20, 1915, to John B and Helen (Carroll) Till in Mitchell. She attended Notre Dame grade school and graduated from Mitchell Senior High School in 1933. After high school, she began working at the Roxy Theatre and in 1935 married theatre owner Nelson Logan. She and Nelson ran the Roxy until they leased it out for a period of 10 years in the late forties. Lorraine managed the theatre when they took it over again in 1959. Besides the Roxy, they ran several other Mitchell businesses including the Hudson automobile dealership, Roxy Radio, TV and Appliance sales, the Roxy Coffee shop, the Downtown Cities Service Oil station and apartment rentals. They also operated the Roxy Theatre at Menno for several years in the late 1930s. Lorraine and Nelson were divorced in 1964. Lorraine went to work for the Grigg Clothing Company, and later managed Stevensons Dress shop. In 1968, she moved to Sioux Falls to take the position of assistant promotion director at KELO-TV. She worked at KELO for 13 years before retiring and moving back to Mitchell. She occasionally worked as a hostess at Chef Louies Steak House when it was owned by Ray Schultz. She was known in the business community for her administrative abilities, and to everyone for her graciousness, and style and beauty. She loved meeting people and traveling. She is survived by her son, Jeff and wife, Linda, of Mitchell; her grandchildren: Scott, Salt Lake City, UT, Jennifer, Minneapolis, MN, and Stephanie, Winter Park, FL; sisters, Alice Vauchelet, Cincinnati, OH, Lucille Kane, Seattle, WA, and Margaret Dynan, Roseville, MN; and a brother, Ralph (Betty) Till, Hayward, CA. She was preceded in death by Nelson in 1977, her sister, Marie McLaughlin, five year old sister, Helen and her brothers, Bill, Bob and John Till.
