Lorraine Hoscheid, age 91, of Mitchell, died Sunday March 12, 2006 at Firesteel Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, March 15, at St Mary of Mercy Catholic Church in Alexandria with burial at St Mary of Mercy Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the church with a 7:30 PM prayer service. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel. She was born February 3, 1915, at Alexandria to August and Marie (Synsonal) Dhondt. She attended Emery Catholic School through the eighth grade and then graduated from Alexandria High School. She helped in her parents caf in Alexandria. Lorraine married Carl Hoscheid on June 4, 1935, in Alexandria. They moved to rural Alexandria where they farmed until 1975 when they retired and moved into town. In 2000, they moved to Firesteel Healthcare Center. Lorraine was a member of St. of Mercy Catholic Church and the Catholic Foresters. Her hobbies included quilting and each grandchild received a quilt from her. She was also known for her baking. She is survived by her daughters: Lynne Schulte and husband, Paul, Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, and Vicki Fluth and husband, Evan, Ethan; seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2002, one sister, and one brother-in-law.
