Loretta Margaret Moore, age 92, of Mitchell, SD died Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Home in Corsica, SD. A Gathering Service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Loretta Margaret Petersen, daughter of Bernhard and Alvina (Lammers) Petersen, was born February 16, 1922 in Graettinger, IA and attended school in Graettinger, IA. After her schooling, Loretta worked as a housekeeper for local families. She was united in marriage with Lloyed Earl Moore on November 28, 1942 in Graettinger, IA . The couple made their home in Graettinger for a short time before moving to Mitchell, SD in the late 1940's. While in Mitchell, Loretta was a homemaker and raised their children. After their children were grown, she was employed at the Methodist Hospital in the Laundry Department. She continued to make her home in Mitchell after her retirement. In her retirement, Loretta enjoyed time he spent at the James Valley Senior Citizen Center. Loretta enjoyed gardening, canning, playing cards, embroidering and dancing. Grateful for having shared her life are her two daughters, Dorie (Wayne) Giese, Palmrya, WI, Margie (Donald) Schryvers, Mitchell, SD; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Delbert Petersen, Estherville , IA, Merle (Irma) Petersen, Apache Junction, AZ; two sisters, Doris Petersen, Havelock, IA, LuVonn Peterson, Graettinger, IA. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; nine brothers and sisters.
