Loraine Lois Olawsky, age 81, of Mitchell, SD died Wednesday December 26, 2007 at Avera Hospice Home in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church Mitchell with burial at St. Johns Hillside Cemetery in rural Dimock. Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mitchell with a prayer service beginning at 7:30 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel. Loraine Wieczorek, daughter of Henry and Gertie (Krause) Wieczorek, was born October 24, 1926 in Corsica, SD. She grew up in the Corsica area and attended Garfield Country School. Loraine was united in marriage with Marvin Olawsky on June 2, 1948. The couple farmed in the Corsica area until they retired in 1987. In November of 1987 they moved to Mitchell. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and for the past 20 years a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Loraine volunteered at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell, SD. Loraine was a lifetime homemaker and wonderful mother who loved to care for her grandchildren. Loraine loved to garden, bake, crochet, dance, and put puzzles together. Grateful for having shared her life are her two sons, Gary Olawsky and his wife, Judy, Armour, SD, Randy Olawsky and his wife, Janet, Sioux Falls, SD; two daughters, Gloria Olawsky, Hermosa, SD, Lynette Schoenfelder and her husband, Steve, Mitchell, SD; 5 grandchildren, Gregg and his wife, Nicole and their children, Kendall and Jarrett, Jeremy and his wife, Natalie and their daughter, Olivia, John Olawsky, Ty and Tate Schoenfelder; three sisters, Regina Scheetz, Mitchell, SD, Edna Olawsky, Mitchell, SD, Florence Mahan, Parkston, SD. She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant son; her parents; a brother, and four brothers-in-law.
