Lois Pueppke, of Mitchell, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab.  Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 PM.

Lois was born September 2, 1934 on a farm outside of Alexandria, SD to Elmer and Luella (Brakke) Plagmann. Her family moved to the family farm when she was 6 months old and she lived there until she married. Lois attended country school before graduating from Alexandria High School.

She married Don Pueppke in 1955 together they raised two sons. Lois moved with Don when he was in the military; when he was discharged, they moved back to South Dakota where they rented a farm before buying Don's family farm in 1968. Together they lived there for 45 years. Lois worked on the farm, doing chores and field work. Lois became very good at driving the truck, hauling all of the livestock to Sioux Falls. In 2013 they built a new home and moved to Mitchell.

Grateful for having shared her life is her husband, Don; sisters, Linda Werning and Diane Hansen; son, Dan (Lynette) Pueppke, grandchildren, Jennifer (Corey) Reed, Jessica (Christian) Pardilla, Christopher Pueppke and Jennelle (Justin) Soderstrom, and an unborn great-grandson Baby Soderstrom. .

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gary Plagmann; brothers-in-law, Albert Werning and David Hansen; and a son, David Pueppke

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Zion Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall Fund.
