Lois Morris, age 88,of Mitchell, died September 1, 2005 at the Avera Brady Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Mitchell. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 PM at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7 PM. Burial will be in Servicemens Memorial Cemetery. Lois Williamson Morris, daughter of Frank Ray and Ethel Mae (Moorhead) Williamson, was born February 9, 1917 south of Artesian, SD. Lois attended Ravena #3 School for her first 8 years of schooling and later graduated from Plano Consolidated School in 1935. In 1936 she went to Reynolds Business College and then worked at Methodist Hospital in the office from 1937 to 1945. Lois was united in marriage with Wayne H. Morris of Ethan, SD on June 22, 1945 at the First United Methodist Church in Mitchell, SD. The couple farmed near Ethan on the home place for 43 years. The couple moved to Mitchell in 1988. She was a former member of Farwell Methodist Church later joining the Ethan Methodist Church and then the First United Methodist Church in Mitchell, SD. Lois was a life long member of the Alvin Erpenbach American Legion Post 261 Auxiliary, holding various offices in the organization. Lois sang in the choir and held various offices in the Ethan Church and United Methodist Women. She was a current member of the First United Methodist Women in Mitchell. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Wayne, Mitchell, SD; two children; Lynda LaFortune and her husband, Ron, Mitchell, SD, Dean Morris, Plattsburg, MO; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; four brothers, Frank Williamson and his wife, Millie, Bloomington, IL, Wayne Williamson, Boulder, CO, Richard Williamson and his wife, Janice, Columbia, MO, Ronald Williamson, and wife Sandy, Peach Tree, GA, three sisters, Dorothy Meyers and her husband, Rueben, Sioux Falls, SD, Carolyn Wells and her husband, Merle, Olympia, WA, Cheryl Loper and her husband, Fred, Haines City, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; a brother; and a sister-in-law.
