Linda Schoenfelder, age 66 of Mitchell, died Friday February 13, 2009 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday February 17 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the church with prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel.
Linda (Courtney) Schoenfelder born November 8, 1942 to Vern and Sara (Ell) Courtney in Aberdeen, SD. She was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Clet, of 47 years, who at just barely 16 she looked into the eyes of the man who would capture her heart forever, they were married at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell, SD in 1961. She attended Tiffany School in Aberdeen, SD, Litchfield and Notre Dame in Mitchell, SD graduating from Notre Dame High School in 1960. She worked at Tempo Store, Headstart Program, RSVP Program, Methodist Daycare Center, Trinity Lutheran Daycare and operated her own daycare making a difference in many childrens lives. She considered her most important job was taking care of children, her own and others and her most important asset in her life was her husband. Her favorite pastimes included writing poetry, singing and playing the piano, organ and accordion
Member of Holy Spirit Church and Holy Spirit Church Altar Society, Prayer Chain and Living Rosary. Member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
