Leslie "Les" P. Johnson, age 79, of Mitchell passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell, SD. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Monday, December 3, 2018 at First Lutheran Church with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the Will Funeral Chapel.

Les P. Johnson, son of Edward and Helen (Helgeland) Johnson, was born August 21, 1939 in Mitchell, SD. He graduated from Mitchell High School and served in the National Guard and US Army.

Les was united in marriage with Carmen Plagmann at Alexandria, SD on June 12, 1960. He was employed at Les Johnson Implement, Lake Andes Auto Supply, Hormels and owned and operated The Anthony Motel from 1979 to 2004.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Carmen Johnson, Mitchell, SD; two daughters, Deb (Lauren) Olson, Mitchell, SD, Cathy (Trevor) Jurgensen, Mt. Juliet, TN; four grandchildren, Andrea and Jordan Olson and Amanda and Alicia Jurgensen; and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Carol and Dean Johnson; two sisters, Delores Pesicka and Darlene Rice; a sister-in-law, Doris Johnson; and brothers-in-law, Jack Pesicka and Richard Rice.
