Leonora Smith, age 94, of Mitchell, SD died Friday May 2, 2008 at Firesteel Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Monday at Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Servicemens Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Will Funeral Chapel. Leonora Ziebart, daughter of John and Marie (Geiszler) Ziebart, was born October 8, 1913 in rural Delmont, SD. She grew up and attended school in the Delmont, SD area. She was united in marriage with Howard Smith on February 5, 1941 in Hartington, NE. While Howard served in the service, Leonora worked as a caf in Spearfish, SD. The couple then returned to Mitchell where Howard was employed at Pheasants Locker Inc. She is a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Leonora enjoyed playing bingo, coffeeing, and growing flowers in her garden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard on October 5, 1991; her parents; five brothers, Edward, Edgar, Rheinold, Miltert, Ervin; four sisters, Leinteen, Clara, Emma and Hilda. Memorials may be directed to the SD Chapter of the Alzheimers Association.
