Leona Edna Stahl, age 87, of Mitchell, SD died Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell, SD. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, April 4, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mitchell with burial at Servicemen's Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the Will Funeral Chapel.

Leona Edna Stahl, daughter of William and Amelia (Moege) Reimnitz, was born April 6, 1928 Davison County. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school.

Leona was united in marriage with Edward Stahl on September 10, 1950 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Dimock, SD. The couple farmed south of Mitchell where they raised their three children. They later sold the farm and moved to town, she worked at various businesses in Mitchell, enjoying all the interactions with friends, old and new.

Leona was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mitchell, SD. She enjoyed participating in the choir, visiting with people and truly loved time spent with her family.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Edward Stahl, Mitchell, SD; three children, Patty (Arlen) Schuh, Mitchell, SD, David (Dorene) Stahl, Silt, CO, Julie (Todd) Royston, Prairie du Chien, WI; eight grandchildren, Melissa (John) Prunty, Kristin Schuh, Valerie (Stephen) Engelman, Kathleen (Mike) Young, Andrea (Adam) Herges, Angie (Derek) Andreas, Mallory (Ben) Easton, Tyler Royston; 10 great grandchildren, William, Adelyn, Olivia and Ava Prunty, Jackson Young, Jadyn Henglefelt, Haley and Emma Andreas and Riley and Adelyn Easton; three sisters, Ruth Wegehaupt, Brandon, SD, Anita (Robert) Wegehaupt, Parkston, SD, Florence Struck, Sioux Falls, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Amanda; and three brothers, Walt, Ed and Raymond.
