Leona Ruff age 81, of Mitchell died Wednesday November 24, 2004 at Firesteel Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday November 27, 2004 at the Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Servicemens Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the Will Funeral Chapel. Leona Stotz was born May 11, 1923 at Armour, SD to Ed and Leah (Hochalter) Stotz. She grew up and attended school in Delmont, SD. Leona was married to Walter Ruff on April 16, 1943 in Armour, SD. She was employed doing janitorial work for Randalls and various other businesses in Mitchell. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxilary. Grateful for sharing her life are her four sons, Denny Ruff and wife Judy of Mitchell, SD; Gary Ruff and wife Gale of Mitchell, SD; Allen Ruff of Las Vegas, NV and Stan Ruff of Mitchell, SD; 14 Grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; two brothers, Gene Stotz of Yankton, SD and Ed Stotz, Jr. and wife Mert of Mitchell, SD; two sisters Eileen Symthe of Colorado and Delores Phillips and husband Ted of Northglenn, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter on June 17, 1992; her parents; and a brother, Ivan.
