Lawrence "Larry" Wermers age 83, of Mitchell died Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial Service will at 10:30 AM Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with military rites.
Lawrence "Larry" George Wermers II was born January 20, 1935 to Lawrence and Ruby (Stopher) Wermers. He attended school and graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1953. Larry married Barbara Jean Lutz on August 27, 1956 she died April 30, 2001. He then married Arlene (Sullivan) Radabaugh on April 26, 2002.
Larry worked for J.J. Newberry, G.F. Buche's, and Paul Brooker Sales until his retirement. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge. Larry enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with his family.
Grateful for sharing his life are his wife Arlene of Mitchell, SD; children Jill Krietlow and LaRee (Jim) Rumbolz of Mitchell, SD and son Larry Wermers III of Chamberlain, SD; step-children Michael (Gwendolyn) Radabaugh of New Orleans, LA, Charles (Kathy) Radabaugh of Wichita, KS, Laura (Donald) Elliott of Knoxville, TN, Linda (Craig) Elsen of Minneapolis, MN, Julie Ellis of Sioux Falls, SD, John (Kristi) Radabaugh of Knoxville, TN and Steven (Sarah) Radabaugh of Worland, WY; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers Tim (Millie) Wermers of Dimock, SD and Jim (Joann) Wermers of Colorado Springs, CO; forever friends Dennis and Kay Gunderson, Chamberlain, SD.
He was preceded in death by his sister in infancy, parents, first wife Barbara, daughter, Jackie Brink and brother, Phil Dawson.
