Lavalle M. Weber, age 77 of Dimock died peacefully at her home on Friday, January 13, 2012. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston with burial at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Dimock. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM. Lavalle was born on July 17, 1934 to Henry and Alvinia (Dvorak) Gau at Armour, SD. They then moved to a farm west of Ethan where she spent her childhood and attended country schools. She attended Ethan High School and graduated valedictorian of her class in 1952. On September 30, 1952 she married Patrick Weber of Dimock. After a short stay in Mitchell they moved to Dimock where she spent the rest of her life. She worked as a bookkeeper for Weber Construction for 35 years. She also managed 2 apartment buildings. She was active in church as a member of the altar society and taught religion for 7 years. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them. Her hobbies included gardening, needlepoint, traveling and reading. She is survived by her husband Pat Weber of Dimock, and 5 children: Gary Weber (Cathy) of Dimock, Linda Lynch (Ed) of Luverne, MN, Jan McCoy (Tom) of Sioux Falls, SD, Deb Flanders (Scott) of Eden Prairie, MN, and Ron Weber (Kim Stoakes) of Canton, SD. 9 Grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Also by 2 brothers, Jerome Gau of Rapid City and Gene Gau (Darlene) of Sarasota, FL; and a sister Delores Sibson (Leo) of Mitchell. She is preceded in death by her parents.
