Larry Johnson, age 62, of Yankton, formerly of Mt. Vernon died Friday, December 14, 2007 at the Human Services Center in Yankton, SD. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM at the Will Funeral Chapel with a Memorial Service at 7 PM. Burial will be in the Victor Lutheran Cemetery, in rural Mt. Vernon. Larry was born on July 18, 1945 in Mitchell, to Alfred and Dorothy Johnson. He grew up on the family farm and attended Victor Country Grade School and graduated from Mt. Vernon High School. Larry was a lifelong fan of Detroit Tigers baseball and had also been a member of the Victor Lutheran Church. He is survived by his brother Jim and wife Joan, Mt. Vernon; niece, Mandy Johnson, Sioux Falls; nephew, Ben Johnson and wife Heather; great-niece, Kyra; and cousins Ardetta Robertson and Loretta Marsh, Denver and Sheryl Wilson, Hurley. He was preceded in death by his parents.
