Larry Gust, 69, of Huron, formerly of Alexandria, died Saturday August 16, 2008 at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10:00 Saturday August 23 at St. Martins Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Burial will be at Greenhill Cemetery in Alexandria with military rites. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 PM at the Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Larry Dean Gust, son of Herman and Eldora (Plagmann) Gust, was born on November 14, 1938 in Mitchell, SD. Larry was raised and educated in the Alexandria, SD community. As a young man, Larry joined the Navy and served his country as an airplane jet mechanic. He was stationed in Texas during his enlistment. Larry married Sherian Johnston on September 2, 1961. They were the parents of six children. Larry was a gifted carpenter and he enjoyed his occupation until he was disabled in an accident in 1973. Larrys legacy and gifted attributes will live on through his children and his grandchildren. His laughter and non-complaining spirit will be missed. Larry is survived by his children: Del (Jody) Gust, Sioux Falls, SD; Robbyn (Larry) Schmitt, Mitchell, SD; Tamera (David) Folden, Rosemount, MN; Jason (Gail) Gust, Scottsdale, AZ; Troy (Sheila) Gust, Centerville, SD; eleven grandchildren: Tory Rosenkranz, Briana Gust, Krista Gust, Mandy Schmitt, Chantel, Ashley and Travis Folden, Chase, Carter and Althea Gust, Christian Gust and a great-grandson Porter Gust, one brother, Rodney (Sandy) Gust, Clovis, CA. Larry was preceded in death by his son, Terrence (Mouse) Gust, Sherian Gust, and his parents Herman and Eldora Gust.
