Obituary

Larry R. Anderson, age 69, of Mitchell, SD died Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Avera McKennan Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday at Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the Will Funeral Chapel. Larry R. Anderson, son of Harold and Marian (Irwin) Anderson, was born February 5, 1939 in Mitchell, SD. He attended a country school and later completed 11th grade in Mitchell. Larry was united in marriage with Janice Huber on June 4, 1960 in Alexandria, SD. He entered the US Army on December 13, 1962 and served during the Vietnam War in Thailand until his honorable discharge on December 11, 1964 and returned to Mitchell. Larry worked at D&L Implement for several years. Later he opened his own repair shop, Anderson Truck Repair, on the Westside of Mitchell. He was then a self employed gravel truck hauler until he retired in 2005. After retirement, Larry enjoyed wood working, camping, and spending time with family and friends. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Janice Anderson, Mitchell, SD; three children, Steve (Julie) Anderson, Mitchell, SD, Lori (Jeff) Alf, Tracy, MN, Becky Anderson, Doland, SD; six grandchildren, Dustin Schrank, Corsica, SD, Rob Schrank, Corsica, SD, Matt Schrank, Mitchell, SD, Brandi Anderson, Mitchell, SD, Kristi Anderson, Mitchell, SD, William Alf, Tracy, MN; a brother, Bill (Verna) Anderson, Mitchell, SD; a sister, Donna Van Overschelde, Mitchell, SD; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie on November 19, 1998; his parents; two sisters, Darlene Koster and Delores Hoffman.
